Congregational care at FPC, Lowville, is carried out in several different ways. The most important care is that done informally by members with each other. Many of our members stay in touch with each other regularly and lend a hand in times of need "as a matter of course." In a world that is growing increasingly impersonal, FPC is still a place where the person matters.
We also have Deacons which care for the members in many ways. The sending of cards, praying, assisting the pastor in visiting members and with communion, providing meals when needed as well as checking in on those in need.
The Deacons encourage connections within the congregation by hosting fellowship meals on a regular basis, coordinating the coffee hour, and hosting meals at various times in the Christian calendar.
