Welcome to our visitor's page. We have designed this page to help you find out more about us as a church, and if you are looking for a church home we encourage you to follow the links provided on this page. They will help you decide whether or not we might be the church you are looking for. If you have further questions or comments, don't hesitate to contact us, and we would love to have you join us for worship at our regular time of 10:00 am, every Sunday.
First Presbyterian Church, Lowville, NY, is one of Lewis County's most historic congregations. We have a long history of involvement in the life of Lowville and a long tradition of service to neighbors near and far.
If you are interested in our worship, the Worship Page will give you an idea of what worship is like at "FPC" on an average morning.
If you would like to know about our programs for children and young people, please check out the Christian Education Page. While we are not a large church, we carry out a regular program of activities for our young people, and we are proud of the quality of our Sunday school program.
If you want to know more about our involvement in service, see our Mission Outreach Page and the Stone Soup Page. Stone Soup provides low-income folks with a free meal once a month. We take quiet pride of the fact that the Stone Soup concept as we know it in Lewis County began with our church and has since spread to other congregations.
You may wonder about how well we care for each other in the congregation, and if so, please, go to the Congregational Care Page, which describes the various fellowship activities of the church as well as the work of the Board of Deacons and the Presbyterian Women.
And if you want to get a sense of our past our History Page will provide you with insights into the long journey of faith we have been on since our founding back in the 1820s.
Finally, if you are wondering about our theological orientation, please see the page entitled Our Faith for a brief description of our values and beliefs as a congregation. If you would like to know more about the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in general, a good place to start is with Presbyterian 101 on our denominational website. ...more>>
